McIntyre’s distribution focus is on schools, school districts, colleges, universities, health units, hospitals, addiction treatment centres, organizations and public libraries across the country. McIntyre’s reach in Canada ensures that Whispers of Life will be able to serve as the critical cultural intervention into bullying and suicide prevention, especially related to youth and young adults.

May 26, 2014 – WHISPERS OF LIFE PHILIPPINES SCREENING TOUR

Whispers of Life has been invited to screen at several universities and colleges in the Philippines (in Manila, Quezon City and Malolos City) and will tour with Writer & Director Florian Halbedl and Producer Joshua M. Ferguson beginning June 23, 2014. Specific tour dates and venues are being finalized and will be announced soon!

The screening tour is supported by the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice at the University of British Columbia’s Dr. Leonora C. Angeles and her SSHRC grant: “Comparative State Feminism in Southeast Asia.”

Whispers of Life will screen at the 6th Emergence Queer Film Festival. The festival runs from February 6-8, 2014 in London, Canada.

Director Florian Halbedl and Producer Joshua M. Ferguson will attend the festival and be part of the Q&A after the screening. The festival was founded by Ferguson, Halbedl and some students and faculty members of Western University in 2008 and has continued to flourish in their absence.

October 17, 2013 – WHISPERS OF LIFE WINS AT REEL PRIDE WINNIPEG 

Whispers of Life won both Audience and Jury Choice Awards at one of Canada’s oldest GLBTTQ* Film Festival, the 26th Reel Pride Winnipeg Film Festival in Manitoba.

Whispers of Life was one of ten films in the festival’s Canadian GLBTTQ* Short Film Competition on October 16, 2013. William F. White Inc. and RBC Royal Bank supported both cash prizes.

Whispers of Life selected as “Festival Favorite” by Cinema Diverse audiences at the Palm Springs Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. In order to be considered a “Festival Favorite,” a film must score an average audience approval rating of 8.5 or higher on a scale from 1 to 10.
